I’m trying to re-learn video making with some software I used in the past. I like to use video clips on this blog because I think that a few seconds of seeing what a bird or other animal does provides some information and interest that doesn’t always come across in a still. Besides, there are literally millions of high-quality pictures of birds on the internet taken by pros.
So I took nearly 40 seconds of this garter snake we came across on our hike during the last naturalist training day. But without motion you’ve got no movie! There were maybe half-a-dozen people looking down at it, and the snake stayed stock-still. So I decided to fool around with the clip and cut it down, stick a little titling on the front and back, and add transitions in between.
