In December my wife, Marilynn, bought me a bird feeder for my birthday. I put it up for a couple of weeks, but I took it down because it rained so much that no birds showed up and the seed got moldy. In January the feeder was up and down. Every time I put it up the rain would start again, and I really didn’t want to waste the seed.
I put it up again this week and this morning the first Dark-eyed Junco landed on a perch and sampled the seed. By the time I got my camera it was gone. But it came back for this blurry portrait.
