This is the gateway to see posts about the birds and other animals that frequent the Twalatin River National Wildlife Refuge.

Winter has really made a statement this year. Record rains this fall, and, now, record snows. I had a Puddle Stompers program scheduled for three days ago at the Refuge. But overnight snow fell up to a foot deep and absolutely shut down Portland and the Willamette Valley. Three days later, because of nights in the 20s and teens, it’s darn near the same.

Everybody’s preoccupied with the snow, but, a couple of days before, I went to Greenway Park and the Koll Wetlands, my favorite haunts close-by. Then it was just cold and rainy, but I got a little footage. I’ve had a lot of indoor time; good for editing.
